So yesterday ended at like 2 a.m. so I was far to tired to blog; but a productive day or entertaining day it was even though it was a tough start. Started out waking up at the hotel to get ready have breakfast and head over to Debbie’s funeral. Full house again was no surprise as Debbie touched many lives. A beautiful, tear-filled service it was. The Celtic music was awesome and various different choices clearly picked out by Debbie were played. The family and friends there were aw inspiring, I only hope to have half that many people turnout to my funeral some day.
So I said my good-byes to Sisters and niece and was going to head out to Tennessee for a couple of days to stay with my dear friends who live in Memphis. Had to stop and top off my fuel tank of course and pick up drinks and snack for my next 5 hour drive. I was chilled to the music and everything was going well until close to the end of Kentucky. My car went from 70 to 60 with my foot still on the gas. I’m in my car petting her saying oh no honey we need to make it to Memphis I know your tired but we don’t need any problems. I pressed the gas again and got back up to 70 but the clicky clank noise started. Road trip with car noises are not a good thing in case y’all didn’t know it. LOL
I pull over at exit 112 in Crossroads Tennessee (yes I did make it into the state) to Sad Sam’s Shell gas station. Little did I know at that time I would become a part of the gas station for the next 5 hours. This station had a huge Indian on the lot and when I asked the young lady at the store what was the story behind him was she didn’t know, she had only been in town 6 months. The young cashiers boss came in later on and said he was one of the schools mascots. All I know is I had to get a selfie with him and just about everyone that came into that station did the same thing. I digress; so this young lady named Angel walking towards me I say to her you don’t know anything about cars do ya? She says no but my friend does she’s walking her dog (Emily I think was dogs name) over there just tell her Angel sent ya. This young lady Trisha really seemed to know her stuff. She checked my filter, looked around a few other things and drove it for a moment. When she came back she mentioned without her diagnostics it’s truly hard to tell for sure but she thought I should get it towed and looked at. I’m like thanks. Met two beautiful women willing to help a stranger so I asked for their Facebook names and asked if they wanted to be friends (cause that’s what I do). So made a couple of cool new friends.
I then decided to look on the back of my insurance card and since I pay for emergency road service (IE: tow to a garage to be looked at) at 5:15 p.m. I called and they sent someone to come help said it would be about an hour. An hour later I get an automated call saying your tow should be there by now if it is press 1 if it’s not call tow company. Well truck was not there yet so I called and the gentleman was very apologetic stating his crew were all out on jobs and they have me down it should be about an hour. (thought to self well I don’t have a choice so OK) So I said thanks and hung up.
So went back into gas station for another drink and sandwich because by now I hadn’t had lunch and it was dinner time so tummy was growling. Need to charge phone inside the station thank God that little newlywed was so sweet to me. Little 20-year-old cashier’s husband came in, I didn’t ask but he looked 15. 🙂
Long story short I met a whole lot of nice people. Had a few look at my vehicle and put their two cents in about what it might be. It currently sits at a garage that I assume does not open until Monday. My tow truck driver didn’t show up until 8:30. My Memphis bestie was in route and she finally got there 9:15 p.m. Needless to say drive back to Memphis was long but I was moving again and got home 2:30 a.m.
